Experience & Interests

Dr. Kelsey Logan has been a primary care sports medicine physician with OSU Sports Medicine since 2009. She is the team physician for the Ohio Premier Soccer Club and Mifflin High School. She is an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at Ohio State, directing the sports medicine training for the Department of Internal Medicine, and is the Medical Director for OSU’s Sports Concussion Program. A collegiate golfer and avid recreational athlete, she enjoys caring for musculoskeletal and primary care issues related to sports in all ages.

Prior to joining OSU, Dr. Logan was on faculty at the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center and Elite Sports Medicine, where she was head team physician for Wesleyan University and for Tony Dicicco’s Soccer Plus Connecticut/CT Reds. While at CCMC, Dr. Logan received teaching awards in the Department of Pediatrics.

Advocacy and policy for children, adolescents and young adults regarding sport health and safety is important to Dr. Logan. She is a reviewer for the journals Sports Health and Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise and is an editor of the Sideline Report, newsletter of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine. She is very active in the American Academy of Pediatrics, serving on the Ohio AAP Home and School Health Committee and on the AAP Executive Committee for the Section on Young Physicians, for which she is Chair-elect for 2010-11. She serves on the Research and Publications Committees for AMSSM and on the Youth Sports and Health Committee for the American College of Sports Medicine. In addition, she has been appointed to the NCAA Committee on Competitive Safeguards and Medical Aspects of Sports.

Dr. Logan’s clinical interests include pediatric and adolescent sports medicine, back pain, concussion management, female athlete issues, and fitness in preventive health. She speaks extensively on a regional and national basis on these topics. Her research interests are focused on concussion education and management and female athlete health, and she is working toward a Master of Public Health degree.

She is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, the American Board of Internal Medicine, and in Sports Medicine by the American Board of Medical Specialties.
