• BA in chemistry from The Ohio State University, 1993
• Medical Degree from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine, 2000

Experience & Interests

Dr. Borchers joined the OSU Sports Medicine staff in 2004. As an undergraduate at OSU he played football for the Buckeyes and was recognized with multiple awards. He received the Ohio State Scholar Athlete Award five times from 1989-1993 and was an Academic All Big 10 selection in Football four times from 1990-1993.

Today he is a team physician for the football program at OSU as well as the women’s field hockey, men’s and women’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s soccer, softball and men’s and women’s tennis teams.

Dr. Borchers’ clinical interests include medical issues in the athlete, musculoskeletal sports injuries, and the management of osteoarthritis in active individuals.

Dr. Borchers is a runner and has completed multiple half and full marathons.
