Experience & Interests

Dr. Walrod is a board certified family practice physician specializing in primary care sports medicine, sports-related injuries and musculoskeletal health. As a former collegiate boxing champion, he has a special interest in hydration, nutrition and injury prevention, and treatment for the martial arts community. Endurance Medicine is also among Dr. Walrod’s interests, after he served as the medical director for the Wisconsin Marathon and personally completed the Boston Marathon twice.

Dr. Walrod joined OSU Sports Medicine in 2014, bringing significant experience working with prominent teams and individuals as team physician for the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee Brewers, Milwaukee Ballet and the U.S. National Speed Skating Team.
