Thomas Best, MD, PhD has been appointed by Governor Robert Taft to the Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Athletic Trainers (OTPTAT) Board, effective November 2006. The mission of this board is to actively promote and protect the health of the citizens of Ohio through effective regulation of the professions of occupational therapy, physical therapy, and athletic training. He is the only physician member of the board, and will help to oversee the issues pertaining to the practice of all licensed athletic trainers in Ohio. Licensure and the practice of athletic training are part of the Ohio Revised Code (Law) and regulated with Rules as enacted by the Board.
