Clinical Care > Performance and Injury Prevention > Sports Performance > Training Philosophy
In our quest to improve our athletes’ performance, we have made critical observations that help shape the way we train athletes. We found that most sports are played in the standing position with force applied to the ground and that athletes must use every muscle, tendon and joint throughout the body in multiple directions in a coordinated and explosive manner. Our sports performance training may include any and all of the following:
- Athletic Evaluation / Movement Screen
- Mobility / Flexibility
- Linear Speed (start, first step quickness, acceleration, absolute speed)
- Multi-Directional Speed (footwork, direction change, agility)
- Plyometrics / Elasticity
- Reaction
- Joint Stability / Balance / Posture
- Injury Prevention / Pre-hab
- Reconditioning / Return from Injury
- Strength / Power (focusing on the core)
- Conditioning (energy system development, work capacity)
- Recovery / Regeneration
