Where Medicine Meets the Arts
OSU Sports Medicine is proud to announce a unique program that addresses the special needs of the performing artist – the dancer, the musician, the theatrical artist and the performance athlete.
The OSU Performing Arts Medical Team
We provide ready access to sports medicine primary care physicians, orthopedic surgeons, sports chiropractors and performing arts-specific athletic trainers, physical therapists and massage therapists.
Kinetic Chain Evaluation and Treatment
Limited range of motion and weakness may lead to injury. Understanding the kinetic chain and movement patterns is an essential part of injury intervention, prevention and peak performance for the performing artist.
Dance Training and Conditioning
Specialists at the OSU Sports Medicine Program for the Performing Arts make on-site dance-specific assessments and design return-to-dance protocols with unique dance conditioning training exercises and standing Pilates training.
Physical Therapy and Manual Therapy
Sports chiropractors, physical therapists and athletic trainers with specialized performing arts training direct proprioception and strength retraining specific to your art form. This also includes manipulation, muscle energy and mobilization techniques and myofascial release therapy.
We will respect you as an artist, performing athlete and most importantly a person. To get ahead on the road to recovery with our Program for the Performing Arts, please call 366-3600 to make an appointment. We can get you back on the stage and in the spotlight.
